Diving baptism in Águilas

If you're not sure yet about taking the Open Water course but want to try what it feels like to breathe underwater, you can do our Discovery Dive.

Level
No previous experience needed
Duration
Half a day · 40-50 min dive, max. 10 m deep
Price
From €90

The idea is that you can try diving alongside an instructor and do your first dive under very controlled conditions.

First we'll explain the diving equipment and what each piece is for. You'll learn how sea pressure affects the body and we'll give you some basic safety notions. This is where you can clear up any doubts or preconceptions you have about diving.

Afterwards we'll take the club boat out to the dive spot, the instructor will describe the route you're going to follow, and you'll dive to a maximum depth of 10 metres for about 40-50 minutes. Breathing underwater and being able to move in all three dimensions is an incredible feeling, often described as very similar to flying.

Requirements

  • No previous experience or certification required
  • No health conditions incompatible with diving (ask us if in doubt)

Do I need to know how to swim to do the discovery dive?

The discovery dive is a standalone introductory activity. If you later want to get certified, the Open Water course starts from scratch with its own theory and practice programme.
