Junior Open Water course in Águilas (10-14 years)
If your child is a little fish, always soaked, loves snorkelling and everything to do with the sea, they're asking for a Junior Open Water Diver course.
They'll learn to handle diving equipment independently, communicate underwater, dive safely and use the buddy system, respect the environment, and prevent and handle the small problems that might come up. In short, everything they might need to dive safely, always accompanied by a legal guardian and/or a qualified instructor. This certification automatically converts into Open Water Diver when they turn 15.
The theory part is done partly at their own pace, with the help of the SSI App: they can read the theory and take self-tests at their own speed, and afterwards an instructor will go over it with audiovisual support and practical demonstrations on land.
In the practical part they'll do 5 open-water dives (starting at 3 metres deep) progressively increasing the depth and difficulty. On the last dive they'll reach 12 metres, the maximum depth allowed by this certification. The course takes 3-5 days, adapting to each family's needs.
Requirements
- Be between 10 and 14 years old
- No previous health conditions (ask the center if in doubt)
- Will always dive accompanied by a legal guardian or qualified instructor
