La Ruta de los Barcos

This dive takes place in open water. We descend straight down the line to the first wreck, the “San Francisco de Asís”, at around 26 metres (the sandy bottom is at 29). You can see into its holds, as it's open at deck level.

We follow a guide line to the next wreck, the “Nueva mi Teresa”, where you can see how the sea is turning the wreck into an artificial reef. Looking out into the blue you might spot schools of barracuda, and sometimes schools of thousands of damselfish. Inside the wreck's openings you can find conger eels and moray eels.

The next wreck, the “Ana María”, has been broken apart by the sea and only its ribs remain visible. It's literally packed with moray eels, and on the best days you can count up to fifteen of them. As the dive comes to an end you can see the tail of a sunken plane, and near it you can reach the Cueva de la Virgen and from there back to our boat.
